Metro ging op zoek naar het verhaal achter de stem op station Amsterdam Centraal en ontmoette Paula Mendel.

Paula Mendel moest ooit een huwelijksaanzoek omroepen op het centraal station van Amsterdam. De bruid in spe gaf in tranen haar ja-woord richting de speakers. Maar meestal hoor je Mendels stem bij vertragingen, spoorwijzigingen of het uitvallen van treinen. Ze is sinds 1995 omroepster op station Amsterdam Centraal. Dat betekent dat haar stem niet alleen door het station van Amsterdam schalt, maar ook ver daar buiten.
