Rapport: Er moet een stoptrein Amersfoort-Apeldoorn komen

De gemeenten Amersfoort, Barneveld, Nijkerk en Apeldoorn hebben belang bij een goede regionale stoptreinverbinding tussen Amersfoort en Apeldoorn. Die zou bovendien de reistijd tussen Ede-Wageningen en Apeldoorn sterk kunnen verbeteren.

Dat concludeert onderzoeksbureau RoyalHaskoning-DHV in een dinsdag openbaar gemaakt rapport. Op de spoorlijn Amersfoort-Apeldoorn rijdt nu alleen de intercity.

Amersfoort wil voor een betere treinverbinding met Apeldoorn een station in Amersfoort-Oost. Voor de gemeente Nijkerk betekent een regionale stoptrein een directe verbinding tussen station Hoevelaken en Apeldoorn. Een station in Apeldoorn-West maakt attracties en bedrijven beter bereikbaar.
