'Bouw geen zorginstellingen bij spoor'

ENSCHEDE - Gemeenten moeten instellingen zoals verzorgingshuizen, ziekenhuizen en peuterspeelzalen niet in de buurt van het spoor bouwen.

Bestaande instellingen met mensen die zichzelf niet kunnen redden, moeten beter worden beschermd. Dat concludeert de Veiligheidsregio Twente donderdag in een onderzoek naar de veiligheid van het spoor in Twente.

In Hengelo en Oldenzaal staan ziekenhuizen naast het spoor. In Wierden, Rijssen en Delden gaat het om verzorgingshuizen. De kans op ongevallen met gevaarlijke stoffen is volgens de veiligheidsregio klein, maar als er wel iets mis gaat kunnen de gevolgen groot zijn.
