Overijssel: "Investeren in spoor"

De provinciale politiek wil dat er fors geïnvesteerd gaat worden in de spoorlijn Twente-Zwolle. De partijen roepen op om daarover zo snel mogelijk met de provincie Gelderland en het Rijk in overleg te gaan.

De spoorlijn Wierden-Zwolle is op dit moment niet geëlektrificeerd, het is enkel spoor en er ontbreken voldoende perrons. De beste verbinding loopt nu via station Deventer, maar dat is in de praktijk tijdrovend en omslachtig. De politiek vindt goede verbindingen tussen de economische centra Zwolle en Twente erg belangrijk en is bereid om daar geld voor uit te trekken. Voorlopig ligt er een bedrag van 40 miljoen euro op de plank.
