Hofgeestlijn: lightrail IJmuiden-Amsterdam

VELSEN - De gemeente Velsen gaat de mogelijkheden onderzoeken om een hoogwaardige lightrailverbinding aan te leggen tussen de haven van IJmuiden en station Amsterdam Sloterdijk.

De ’Hofgeestlijn’, zoals initiator GroenLinks Velsen het toekomstige lijntje noemt, kan rekenen op veel steun van de gemeenteraadsfracties. ,,Als de wind mee zit kunnen we met zo’n twintig jaar met de tram naar Sloterdijk," zegt fractievoorzitter Ernst Merhottein van GroenLinks. Hij broedde ruim een jaar op het plan, dat nu steeds concreter aan het worden is. ,,Voor de zomer was de presentatie, nu dus de volgende stap."
