Megaorder Arriva voor bussenbouwer VDL

Heerenveen | Bussenbouwer VDL Bus & Coach heeft een megaorder ontvangen van Arriva.

Het bedrijf gaat 275 bussen bouwen, waarvan tweehonderd in Fryslân gaan rijden. De voor Fryslân bestemde bussen zullen gemaakt worden in Heerenveen, de andere in de fabriek in Valkenswaard. Dat is vanochtend in Heerenveen bekendgemaakt.

Met VDL is ook een meerjarig onderhouds- en reparatiecontract afgesloten. Met de totale order is ruim honderd miljoen euro gemoeid. De bussen zijn bedoeld voor vervoer in Noord- en Zuidwest-Fryslân en op Schiermonnikoog en in de regio Zuid-Holland Noord. In totaal laat Arriva 430 nieuwe bussen bouwen. De andere 155 bussen worden besteld bij verschillende andere leveranciers in binnen- en buitenland.
