Verbouwing stationsomgeving Beesd

BEESD - Het station in Beesd wordt opgeknapt. De gemeente Geldermalsen heeft als aandeelhouder van de Merwede-Linge-lijn zich verplicht dit aan te pakken en inmiddels is de aannemer al begonnen.

De bedoeling is het station aantrekkelijker en veiliger te maken. De fietsenstalling wordt uitgebreid, er komt meer parkeerruimte en het stationsplein wordt anders ingericht. Verder verdwijnt de historische overkapping en komt er eennieuwe, kleinschalige wachtruimte, zoals deze ook bij andere stations langs deze lijn wordt toegepast. Ook wordt het perron verhoogd, zodat het instappen gemakkelijker wordt.

De metamorfose van station Beesd kost de gemeente 180.000 euro.
