Spoorlijn Utrecht-Leiden: Verbouwing en nieuwe stations

LEIDEN - De Rijn Gouwe Lijn door het centrum van Leiden en van daar naar de kust, is definitief van de baan.

In plaats van de sneltram komt er een netwerk van buscorridors in het noorden van Zuid-Holland. Ook gaan er vanaf 2018 vier in plaats van twee treinen per uur rijden tussen Leiden en Utrecht en terug.

Het spoor tussen Leiden en Utrecht wordt niet verdubbeld maar op sommige plaatsen komt wel de mogelijkheid voor twee Sprinters en twee Intercity’s om elkaar te passeren. Ook wordt een nieuw station aangelegd: Hazerswoude-Koudekerk.
